Racism and nationality
process -->
We reflected on our own multi-nationality, our heritage and our dual- or multi-origin in context to the (negative as well as positive) stereotypes we are being met with or carry with us.
At first we circled the topic quite widely and shared our personal reflections and experiences. After that we wanted to find a new way of expressing our non-norm in a visual language and ended up with creating our very own flag system that breaks the "rules" under which flags are normally made.

Flags as visual language are commonly:
rectangle, representing a stereotype, represent a limited group of people (borders), separates from other communities, simplification, recognizable, mono (not repetitive), straight lines, graphic not decorative.

We would like our flags to be:
unique shapes (both the grand total as well as the puzzle pieces), personal and decorative, ever changing as a person develops, integratable as tiles to connect and build a bigger image the bigger the community grows, complicated, able to repeat.

To create a prototype we made our own version with paper and hope to get the class engaged to make their own tiles and add it to our flag.
